Russian pair Tarasova, Morozov advance to Pairs free skating with six points leading for best short program.
French pair James, Cipres finished on the second place followed by German pair Savčenko, Massot. The limit of 80 points was overcome only by Evgenie Tarasova with her partner. “We enjoy performing this program, the elements are working very well and we see that we are making progress,” said shortly her partner Vladimir Morozov and added: “From competition to competition this program is working better, the emotions are stronger and the marks are higher. We are moving forward.”
Five times world champions Aliona Savčenko with her partner finished on the third place. She regretted her fall in steps variations. “It never happened to me before. I think I relaxed too early, because it was going well. Falling is easy, but getting up is harder. The important thing is to get up again.”
Junior world champions Anna Dušková, Martin Bidař showed elegant performance and received 65,70 points. Only one visible mistake was the fall of Bidař in the opening part of the performance. “Our result overcame our expectations. We did not think of the placement and wats more we did our personal best,” she smiled. Martin Bidař commented his fall: “I think I was too nervous at the beginning and that was the reason I fell down (on the triple toe). I do not know what happened, just a lack of concentration. But we are also prepared for this situation.”
